Local Business Woman Visits Preschool

Eastern Propane executive Buffie Dobbs recently visited the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center.

Buffie Dobbs of the Eastern Propane Corporation recently paid a visit to the preschool classroom at the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center to read several children’s books as part of Project Self-Sufficiency’s Celebrity Reader program. “I loved reading to the children. They were full of curiosity and excitement while listening to the new stories that I brought to share with them and so thrilled to tell me about how they help with the Project Self-Sufficiency garden,” said Dobbs. “I am very honored to have been invited to spend some time with them and truly touched by the amazing outreach and services that Project Self-Sufficiency provides to the community.”

The Celebrity Reader program is a component of Project Self-Sufficiency’s Family Literacy Program, which exists primarily to assist parents with obtaining their GED or with passing the college placement exam. While in the program, parents also engage in a variety of activities designed to promote literacy within the entire family.
