Man Snorted Heroin While Driving, Crashed Minivan, Sparta Police Say

The man allegedly told police he'd snorted a bag of heroin while driving.

SPARTA, NJ — A driver high on heroin snorted the drug while driving before crashing his minivan into a utility pole last week, Sparta police said in a statement.

On Aug. 10 around 7:15 p.m., Tomas Molina, 31, of Bloomfield, struck a utility pole on Route 15 near Wilson Drive, police say. When police arrived on the scene, Molina allegedly told them he'd fallen asleep behind the wheel.

Officers say his pupils were constricted, and Molina kept "nodding out" while they were speaking. Officers asked if he was high, and Molina allegedly told them he'd snorted a bag of heroin while he was driving.
