Man Stranded On Cliffs Saved By Sparta Police
The man became stranded while looking for his dog, police said.

SPARTA, NJ — A man searching for his dog became stranded on cliffs in Sparta over the weekend, Sparta Police said.
A Sparta resident was looking for his dog on the cliffs behind the Lake Mohawk Golf Club Friday evening, police said. As darkness fell, the man became stranded on the cliffs, about 200 feet up the cliff face.
Using the sound of his voice, officers were able to locate the man, and were able to help him back down the cliffs. During the rescue, the man and officers could hear the dog crying; the animal was eventually rescued from halfway up the cliffs.

The man and his dog were reunited uninjured with their family, police said.
