The New Jersey State Fair Celebrates 75 Years of Fun!

AUGUSTA, NJ—Since 1940, the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show has dazzled the community with beautiful horse shows, exciting carnival rides, tasty snacks, and the opportunity for friends and family members of all ages to connect at the biggest event of the summer. This year’s celebration is special, as it is the 75th anniversary of The Fair!

The Fairgrounds’ organizers have been preparing for this year’s Fair since 2014. In addition to the regular lineup of entertainment, this year’s Fair will also include a wide variety of commemorative and nostalgic events. One of the most exciting will be the premier of Wayne McCabe’s latest book, “A Fair to Remember: The 75th Anniversary of the Farm and Horse Show.” The book takes readers on a picture tour of The Fair, celebrating the community and how much it has grown. Order a copy in advance, or check it out during The Fair itself!

In addition to this exciting event, there will be a number of other exhibits that encourage Fairgoers to remember and reminisce. Exhibits such as Fair History and Flower & Garden Expo will be present throughout The Fair, and a number of special events will be occurring as well.

Tickets for this year’s Fair are: $13 adults, $9 seniors, $6 children 6-12, free for children under 6, $9 adults after 8:30, veterans and current military free! Megapass (1 day admission and ride bracelet – advanced ticket purchase only!): $28 Adults, $25 children. Tickets can be purchased at The Fairgrounds office or at local partners in the surrounding areas.
