Old and Young, Local and International--Special Days at The Fair!

AUGUSTA, NJ—That time of year is here again: Fair Time in Sussex County! The 75th Anniversary of the New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Horse & Farm Show is happening from July 31-August 9, and it is packed with tasty snacks, amazing acts, exciting rides, and enough animal antics to entertain any Fairgoer.

The Fair is fun for everyone, but this year’s Fair offers special days for a variety of populations! Our special days include special admission prices for select groups, entertaining and educational exhibits around our special theme of the day, and even more fun for our special Fairgoers!

First up is Green Day, on August 3rd. Farm Meets Fun at The Fair this year, and our Green Day fits perfectly with this theme! Enjoy ecofriendly exhibits, green activities, and demos of green products and services from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

On August 4th, round up the kids! Children’s Day is dedicated to the children that we care about so much, and features special child-centric exhibits, entertainment, and activities from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission on Children’s Day is $5 for children 5-12, so invite some friends or family!

For those who are young at heart, August 6th is the day to go! Seniors 60 and up can enjoy $4 admission and an entire day dedicated to our senior community. Entertainment and displays will happen between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., but don’t let that be the only time you have fun at The Fair! Senior Day is a great time to meet up with friends, check out or exhibits, and take a trip down memory lane with our 75th Anniversary activities.

Also on August 6th is Polish Night! Are you ready for some great music and dancing? Polish Night is the perfect way to enjoy a community celebration full of culture. Admission is included with Fair prices, so make sure to visit the Fair!

Are you a crafter or a craft aficionado? You absolutely have to visit The Fair on Peter’s Valley Day! August 7th will have demos by juried crafters from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., making this the perfect day for your crafting extravaganza! Learn about the great workshops offered at Peter’s Valley, or pick up a handmade craft from one of our vendor stalls.

Still have some energy let for The Fair? Get Active on August 8th! This special day focuses on community health, and encourages all members of the community to get moving! Demos will occur between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., so make sure to start your active day at The Fair early!

No matter when you visit, The Fair is jam packed with exciting memories. Celebrate the 75th Anniversary with a traditional family visit to The Fair, or start a new tradition! There are plenty of special days, so make sure to visit at least once—twice is even more fun!
