Paper Shredding Event to Benefit Project Self-Sufficiency
The Hardware Store will host a paper shredding event to benefit Project Self-Sufficiency.

The Hardware Store in Sparta will sponsor a paper shredding event in honor of Earth Day, Saturday, April 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The event is co-sponsored with Sparta Township, and is one of a series of Earth Day events being held at The Hardware Store and around Sparta Township. Paper items to be shredded can include paper clips, rubber bands, binder clips, and plastic or metal spiral binders. A single paper grocery bag filled with paper will cost $6.00; fees will benefit Project Self-Sufficiency’s programs for families in Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon Counties. The Hardware Store is located at 182 Woodport Road in Sparta.
The Hardware Store owner Roberta Kelly notes, “I have always been a supporter of Project Self-Sufficiency because they help people to help themselves, which is very empowering. We are holding this event to help the people in the community just like Project Self-Sufficiency does all of the time".
“Generosity and support from businesses and individuals in our community allows Project Self-Sufficiency to offer essential services and a nurturing experience to our participants,” comments Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency. “We are grateful that community-based businesses like The Hardware Store are able to offer events like these which simultaneously benefit Project Self-Sufficiency and our natural environment.”
