Hopatcong's next batch of freshmen are ready to go.
Rain forced the middle school to hold its eighth-grade graduation inside the high school gym on Tuesday night. No matter. The hundreds in the stands cheered wildly as the children received their diplomas, the first step toward some of their lives' most memorable years.
The children listened to speeches from Principal Lou Benfatti, Vice Principal Kevin Lipton, Superintendent Dr. Charles Maranzano and Board of Education member Dr. Richard Lavery.
