Sparta Police Department reported the following arrests:
DWI
At about 8:10 p.m. Oct. 14 Sparta Police officers reported to Morgan Drive after they received a call about a vehicle idling in the roadway and the driver "smoking something," police said. Officers found Maureen E. Dury, 52, of Dover, in his 2005 Honda parked in the roadway and determined she may have operated her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, police said. Dury failed a series of Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. She was transported to Headquarters for processing and breath testing and was charged with DWI, Consumption Of Alcohol In A Motor Vehicle, Careless Driving and Failure To Notify An Address Change. Dury was released to a sober adult hours later and has a pending court date, police said.

DRUG POSSESSION
Sparta Police arrested a Fort Lee man for possession of marijuana and Adderall at around 8:15 a.m. Oct. 15. After a Sparta officer saw a 2013 Honda speeding on Route 15 northbound, he issued a motor vehicle stop. The officer immediately detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle while he talked to the driver, who was later identified as Taeik Kim, 25. The officer asked Kim for consent to search his vehicle and Kim agreed, police said. The officer found nine marijuana cigarettes and two plastic bags that contained eight Adderall pills. Kim was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters, where he was criminally charged with Possession Of Under 50 Grams Of Marijuana and Possession Of Schedule II Narcotics. Kim was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Speeding, Possession Of CDS In A Motor Vehicle, Careless Driving and Failure To Produce Documents, police said. Kim was later released pending a court date.
