Sparta Business Owner Visits Childcare Center

Mary Hyde, Sussex County resident and co-owner of the Altaflo manufacturing company in Sparta, recently paid a visit to the pre-school classroom at the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center to read several children’s books as part of Project Self-Sufficiency’s Celebrity Reader program. “Thanks to everyone at Project Self-Sufficiency for allowing me to come in to read to the children. The kids were great, very well behaved, and I loved the Welcoming Song!” said Mrs. Hyde. “Sussex County is lucky to have the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center available to all of its residents. It was a pleasure reading to the children and I encourage everyone to make a donation to this support this valuable organization.”

The Celebrity Reader program is a component of Project Self-Sufficiency’s Family Literacy Program, which exists primarily to assist parents with obtaining their GED or with passing the college placement exam. While in the program, parents also engage in a variety of activities designed to promote literacy within the entire family.
