Sparta Cops: Keep Off Roads or Face Major Issues
Four car crashes reported before 1 p.m. Monday in Sparta Township, police report.

Before 1 p.m. on Monday, Sparta Township Police had responded to four separate motor vehicle crashes due to icy and snow-covered road conditions.
Sgt. Dennis Proctor said no one was injured in the accidents, but the frequency with which they were occurring proved the roads were in no condition for travelers if it wasn’t completely necessary.
“Snow is predicted to throughout the afternoon, so it is advisable to remain off the roadways if possible,” Proctor’s press release stated. “The state, county, and municipal DPWs continue to try and keep the roadways passable with continued plowing and salting. If it is necessary to travel on the icy roads, use extreme caution.”
