Sparta: Municipal Parks And Field Usage Update

'If social distancing is not observed, the Township reserves the right to discontinue use and close all fields.'

Effective Monday, June 1st, in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders #108, #148, and #149, the fields at Station Park, White Lake Park, and Ungermann will be open for passive recreational activities with social distancing restrictions in place. NO ORGANIZED PLAY or CONTACT SPORT is permitted. If social distancing is not observed, the Township reserves the right to discontinue use and close all fields. Basketball courts and volleyball courts as well as playgrounds remain closed.

Field usage is limited to the following:

  • Passive play/activities only (kicking a soccer ball; playing catch with baseball, softball, or football, etc.)
  • No organized play or contact sport (June 22).
  • No camps, clinics, leagues, or scrimmages (until June 22).
  • Twenty-five (25) persons or less per field.
  • Social distancing of six (6) feet apart required.
  • Face coverings required where social distancing cannot be maintained; encouraged where it can be maintained.
  • Violators are subject to fine.

We ask that you practice proper hygiene and social distancing measures when using municipal facilities for the safety of you, your family, friends, and neighbors.
