Sparta Township Ecourages Candidates To Run For Town Council
To qualify, candidates must reside in Sparta Township and be registered voters.
SPARTA, NJ — Residents interested in running for a seat on the Sparta Town Council can now obtain candidate petition packets from the Municipal Clerk's Office.
To qualify, candidates must reside in Sparta Township and be registered voters. Petition packets are available at the Municipal Building, 65 Main Street, during regular office hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Petitions must include signatures from registered Sparta Township voters. Each voter may sign one petition for each of the three council vacancies on the ballot.

Completed petitions must be filed with the Municipal Clerk's Office by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, to qualify for the November 3 General Election.
Residents planning to vote in the election must be registered by Tuesday, October 13, which is the voter registration deadline for the November election.
