Trooper Airlifted To Hospital After Crash, While They Helped With Another Accident

The officer was in their vehicle, helping with another accident, when their car got rear-ended, according to State Police.

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A state trooper sustained injuries after their vehicle got rear-ended, while they were assisting with another accident Tuesday in Frankford Township. The officer's injuries were non-life-threatening, according to New Jersey State Police.

The trooper was in their vehicle, pulled over to the side of the road and had their emergency lights activated to assist with a crash just before 4 p.m. Tuesday on Route 655. Then a Chevrolet Equinox rear-ended the troop car, according to State Police Sgt. Philip Curry.

Officials airlifted the officer to the hospital, from which he has since been released, Curry said. The Chevrolet driver was treated on-scene for minor injuries.

State Police did not publicly identify anyone involved.
