Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Hires Four New Officers

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ - The end of the year saw the hiring of four new Sheriff’s Officers in the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Law Enforcement, according to Sheriff Michael F. Strada.

The officers are:

Carmelo Calascibetta

• A lifelong resident of Sussex County and a 2016 dual-graduate of both the Sussex County Technical School and Kittatinny Regional High School, Sheriff’s Officer Calascibetta attended Sussex County Community College before being hired as a Corrections Officer by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Corrections in 2018. Officer Calascibetta is a graduate of both the Passaic County Police Academy Basic Corrections Officer Class and the Morris County Police Academy 93rd Basic Police Class.

Steven Siek

• A lifelong resident of Sussex County and a 2013 graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School, Sheriff’s Officer Siek holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University where he graduated from in 2017. Officer Siek was hired by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office in 2018 as a Corrections Officer, a position he served in continuously until his recent appointment to the Bureau of Law Enforcement. Officer Siek is a graduate of the Morris County Police Academy 93rd Basic Police Class.

Nicholas Pampanin

• A lifelong resident of Sussex County and a 1998 graduate of Hopatcong High School, Sheriff’s Officer Pampanin attended both the CHUBB Institute and the Sussex County Community College before being hired as a Corrections Officer by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Corrections in 2009. While in the Bureau of Corrections, Officer Pampanin was assigned to the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program (SLAP) and Sheriff’s Work Assistance Program (SWAP), a role in which he served until his recent appointment to the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Law Enforcement. Officer Pampanin is a graduate of both the Passaic County Police Academy Basic Corrections Officer Class and the Morris County Police Academy 93rd Basic Police Class.

William Fischer

• A lifelong resident of Sussex County, Sheriff’s Officer Fischer holds an Associate of Science degree from the Sussex County Community College from in 2016. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University. Officer Fischer began his law enforcement career in 2015 while serving as a Class II Special Police Officer in Ocean City, Maryland. Officer Fischer is a graduate of both the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy in Maryland and the Morris County Police Academy 93rd Basic Police Class.

Immediately following swearing in the new hires, Strada congratulated each of them and wished them continued success in their careers.
