Teens Caught Doing Drugs Near Alpine Beach: Police

Police say they received calls teens has been hanging out and doing drugs in the woods for months.

SPARTA, NJ — A group of teens were arrested after they were found doing drugs near Alpine Beach, Sparta police said.

Police say they received numerous calls that teenagers were dealing and doing drugs in the area over the course of a few months. Police searched the area last month, and found drug paraphernalia and empty alcohol bottles near a campsite.

On April 16, police checked the campsite area and found six teenagers who were smoking pot. All six were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A 17-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were charged as juveniles, while three 18-year-olds were charged as adults.
