Thanks Given to Agency Supporters by Preschool Students

Benefactors of Project Self-Sufficiency were invited to a Thanksgiving celebration at the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center.

Supporters of local non-profit agency Project Self-Sufficiency were recently treated to an early Thanksgiving celebration featuring the preschool students at the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center. Agency benefactors and childcare center families perched on pint-sized chairs to watch a special Thanksgiving presentation and gamely assembled a craft project with the help of their tiny acquaintances.

“We are blessed with a tremendous amount of community support all year long, and it seemed particularly appropriate to demonstrate our gratitude for their contributions at this time of year,” explains Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency. “The focus of our work is to strengthen families, and what better way to illustrate the effectiveness of that mission than to spend some time with the wonderful children we are privileged to nurture every day in our learning center?”

The Little Sprouts Early Learning Center is a state-of-the-art childcare and preschool facility located on the Project Self-Sufficiency campus in Newton. The fully-staffed center accommodates up to 83 youngsters. Separate classrooms are provided for each age group, and the center offers two playgrounds, a multi-purpose room, a sick room, and special centers for dramatic play, arts and crafts, literacy and other activities. The Little Sprouts Early Learning Center is open to the public; subsidized slots are available for income-eligible families in need of childcare and preschool services.
