“The Three Little Pigs” Street Art is coming to the 2014 New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show!

Charity Auction Combines Street Art, Entertainment, and Giving

AUGUSTA, NJ—Looking to see three of the most creative pigs in New Jersey? There’s no need to huff, puff, or blow a house down… just come to the New Jersey State Fair where you can view “The Three Little Pigs”—the brand new art project that combines local artistic talent with Fair fundraising.

The project brings three local artists and their colorful fiberglass pigs to The Richards Building, where the pigs will be displayed for all ten days of The Fair. On August 10th, the final Fair day, all three pigs will be sold at a live auction, just like their livestock counterparts! The auction will occur at 2:00 pm, prior to the Wood Carver Chainsaw Auction, and the proceeds will benefit the Fairground Improvement Fund. This generous contribution of the artists and the patrons will improve our Fairgrounds and beautify the space, keeping it looking wonderful for years to come.  The Fair is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, and receives no funds from the state or the county. We hope to have a great turnout for this event to benefit our Fair!

The “Three Little Pigs” fundraiser is sponsored by Dr Scott Ruvo, DDS & Staff, Tri State Insurance Agency, Inc. and Brodhecker Farm. In addition to these sponsors, this project benefitted from the generous contribution of Country Classic Auto Body & Michael Cecchini, president, who donated the top coating of all three pigs.

The details of the three little pigs have been released, and they look beautiful! Each pig is 36 inches high and 52 inches long, and would be great conversation starters for any homeowner or business. Stop by to see the hundreds of work hours contributed by the three local artists in painting the fiberglass animals. They were unanimous in their desire to share their talents with their community, giving back with their spectacular contributions!

When Pigs Fly—Well-known wildlife artist Carol Decker contributed a colorful painted pig covered with birds. The pig includes representations of the United States and Sussex County, including a United States flag banner, New Jersey’s state bird, the American Goldfinch, and High point monument.

Beauty—Modern acrylic painter Pat Gray Redline created a beautiful pastel pig in a modern, abstract artistic style. Everyone will smile when they see the charming expression on “Beauty’s” face! The soft colors swirl together to create a smooth, soft design.

Rebel the Road Hog—Airbrush and sign specialist Art Frisbie’s pig has a strong personality and might just fit in on the sidecar of your motorcycle! This pig has a realistic, gritty pig face with a skull and crossbones styling across his back. His intricate design includes amazing details any biker would especially appreciate.

Additional artists are welcome to contact us to “Paint a Pig” for next year’s event!
