Many students probably went home Friday afternoon with hoarse voices.
The school hosted its first pep rally in years as each grade level stood on designated sides of the gym, cheering on the fall sports teams and themselves. It was a raucous, but well-behaved affair, as the children displayed school pride but didn't get out of hand.
Hosted by seniors Julissa Gonzalez and A.J. Fasano and Athletic Director Tom Vara, the pep rally also served as a prelude to Hopatcong's home-opening football game Friday night against Mountain Lakes.
