WHIZ KID: Salutatorian Kelcey Brennan Earns Free Ride

Key to Awesomeness: Not many students can put "nursing home volunteer" and "three-sport athlete" on their college resumes. But Kelcey Brennan (4.6 GPA) could do that and more. Brennan, who will attend St. Thomas Aquinas College in the fall on a full academic scholarship, embodies just about all that's right with Hopatcong High School. She's played varsity field hockey, basketball and softball. She's the National Honors Society president. She's been on the school's academic team. And she's a model daughter—just take it from her father, William Brennan: "We are so proud of our daughter and her accomplishments. She is always thinking of others and taking them under her wing. She has a lovely personality that just draws people to her. We could not imagine that we would have such a special and diversified child. We love her dearly and wish her all the luck in the world with her future endeavors."
