The YMCA Gives a Geek Tech Talk on Smartphones & Tablets
Jan 3rd Active Adult Day - Pot Luck Lunch with Interesting Talks That's Also Added to this Fun Group Fitness Program

Make it your 2019 New Year’s Resolution to have a better understanding of your Smartphone or Tablet - Talk to a Geek. The Active Adult Day Pot Luck Lunch event will host a talk with Mary C Martin the Branch Manager of the Dennis Branch Sussex County Library System in Newton, NJ. She is also a “Tech Talk Geek”. Is your smart or tablet making you feel dumb? Mary Martin will help you put an end to these feelings.
Today’s librarians know how to assist patrons with technology - whether it is a library computer, fax machine, or helping you access eBooks through your tablet or smartphone. Martin’s own experience comes from being a former Emerging Technologies Librarian for the Parsippany Public Library. She acted as a "technology interpreter" for their customers, assisting library patrons with their technology issues, and looking into the future in order to point the library to take advantage of technology that works to improve our vocations and daily lives. Ideally, it should also be accommodated with easy to understand user guides and guidance that eliminates the frustrations in the introduction stage of these new tools.
Thinking of joining the “Y” as one of your New Year’s fitness resolutions? This event presents a perfect opportunity for visiting Community members to check out this YMCA facility that has a pool, saunas, indoor courts, exercise equipment and great group fitness programs like their Active Adult program. You can also visit their website to see their program offerings and time schedules at sussexcountyymca.org.
