Township officials, including the mayor, say they still support safer roads and will keep working with the county on other improvements affecting local neighborhoods and commuters.
• As Bears Prepare for Winter, NJ Officials Urge Caution Ahead of Hunting Season (mercerme.com) — Parts of northern Hopewell Township, including areas near Sourland Mountain and north of Hopewell Borough, fall inside New Jersey's Bear Management Zone 5 as hunting season opens Oct. 12. State wildlife officials urge local residents to secure trash, remove outdoor food sources, and know how to respond if they encounter a bear around their homes or trails.
