• Mercer County Pauses Hopewell Township Roundabout Plans Indefinitely After Resident Opposition (mercerme.com) — Drivers in Hopewell Township won't see new roundabouts on Pennington-Lawrenceville Road anytime soon, after Mercer County agreed to pause the projects indefinitely following strong resident opposition. Township officials, including the mayor, say they still support safer roads and will keep working with the county on other improvements affecting local neighborhoods and commuters.

• As Bears Prepare for Winter, NJ Officials Urge Caution Ahead of Hunting Season (mercerme.com) — Parts of northern Hopewell Township, including areas near Sourland Mountain and north of Hopewell Borough, fall inside New Jersey's Bear Management Zone 5 as hunting season opens Oct. 12. State wildlife officials urge local residents to secure trash, remove outdoor food sources, and know how to respond if they encounter a bear around their homes or trails.
