Find the swan inside yourself! Discover the timeless message of the classic fairy story The Ugly Duckling during the One Book, One Community programs offered at the Monmouth County Library.
Six branches of the Monmouth County Library will participate in One Book, One Community following the recent launch by the Two River Theater Company in Red Bank.
The One Book, One Community goal is to unite the Greater Red Bank area through community discussion, literacy education, and local arts events all centered around one book.

The program, which runs through December 30, will involve events throughout the community to encourage the reading and discussion of The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. In keeping with this theme, the Two River Theater is featuring a family production, Honk! A Musical Tale of the Ugly Duckling, beginning Dec. 6.

The Eastern Branch in Shrewsbury, Hazlet Township, Ocean Township, Oceanport, West Long Branch and Howell Township branches of the Monmouth County Library will host programs centered around The Ugly Duckling. Participants at each library event will have the chance to win a four-pack of tickets to attend a performance of Honk.
