Dump Truck Spills Gravel, Shuts Route 9 In Howell For 3 Hours
Truck overturns after being hit by van; van's driver ticketed

An overturned dump truck spilled 20 tons of gravel onto Route 9, shutting down the road in both directions for about three hours Monday at the Howell-Lakewood border, according to the Asbury Park Press.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. near Ford Road, according to NJ.com.

The truck, driven by Mark McGee, 31, was southbound in the left lane when Sarah Moskovits, 32, pulled her van out onto Route 9 in front of McGee’s dump truck, Howell police said.
McGee tried to swerve, but was unable to avoid Moskovits’s 2012 Honda Odyssey, which hit the front passenger side of the dump truck, according to the APP report, and the truck lost control and tipped over.

McGee was able to get out of the truck but was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment of head, neck and shoulder pain, the APP report said. Moscovits, who was issued a summons, was treated at CentraState Medical Center for a bump on the head, the APP said.
