Farmingdale Man Charged In Theft Of Stump Grinder

Steven Anthony is accused of stealing the grinder and a trailer from a Point Pleasant home in mid-March, police said.

A Farmingdale man has been charged with theft in connection with a trailer and a tree stump grinder valued at $35,000 taken from Point Pleasant in March, Point Pleasant police said Friday.

Steven Anthony was released on a complaint summons pending court, Point Pleasant Lt. Robert Lokerson said.

Lokerson said the 16-foot trailer and tree stump grinder were reported stolen from the property of a Point Pleasant residence on March 19. It was traced to Anthony and Detective David Scalabrini of the Point Pleasant Police Department arrested Anthony on Wednesday, Lokerson said.

Anthony was charged with third-degree theft, he said. The trailer and grinder were recovered.
