Farmingdale Man Killed Walking On Route 33: Report

A Farmingdale man died Wednesday night when he was hit by a vehicle while walking along Route 33 in Neptune, according to a report.

The Asbury Park Press reported that James Thatcher, 70, was crossing Route 33 from the south side to the north when he was hit near an on-ramp to Route 18, near Brighton Avenue, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Thatcher was hit by a 2000 Dodge Caravan heading west on Route 33 Wednesday night, authorities say.
