HOWELL, NJ — As the country continues to mourn police officers who were shot to death in Dallas and Baton Rouge in recent days, the outpouring of support for law enforcement has come from many areas.

Law enforcement agencies have changed their Facebook profiles to various symbols of mourning for those killed -- five law enforcement officers in Dallas and three in Baton Rouge, and thousands of people have shared other photos of support.

In Howell, Police Chief Andrew Kudrick shared the efforts of the Troy family, who prepared sweet "survival kits" for all of the members of the Howell Township Police Department.

"These little beauties were kind enough to drop off care packages for each of our officers," Kudrick said in a post on the department's Facebook page. "Each 'survival kit' was hand made."

"They offered to personally protect me and any officer that was treated 'mean,' " he said. "They were definitely serious! A sincere thank you to Patrick and Samantha Troy and their girls for thinking of the officers!"
