No Abduction In Howell, Police Chief Says
The female heard screaming Sunday night contacted police and said she was safe, not abducted, Chief Andrew Kudrick said.

HOWELL, NJ -- A report that a female may have been forced into a vehicle has turned out to be false, Howell Police Chief Andrew Kudrick said Monday afternoon.
Howell police received a call about 9:55 p.m. Sunday from a resident of Cypress Court in the Point O Woods development, reporting hearing a female screaming, police said. The caller told police it appeared the woman had been forced into a black Jeep Patriot against her will, the post said. The man who called could not describe either person, but said the Jeep, which had tinted windows, raced around the parking lot and then out toward the exit, police said.
On Monday, while patrol officers and detectives were following up on the incident, canvassing the neighborhood going to door to door, checking vehicle databases, traffic cameras, and other resources, Kudrick said, the involved female contacted the Howell police after she was informed of the social media posts.
