1. Serious Accident In Howell Leaves Driver Seriously Injured (thelakewoodscoop.com) — A serious multi-vehicle crash on westbound US 33 in Howell Township early Tuesday sent the Dodge Ram driver to the hospital with serious injuries and another driver with minor injuries. Howell police, local EMS, Adelphia firefighters, and state DOT all responded, and investigators are still working to determine exactly what caused the pickup to cross the centerline.
   

2. Warehouse Reconstruction Still Undecided (jerseyshoreonline.com) — Howell's Zoning Board has delayed a decision on expanding and reconfiguring a warehouse complex on Bennett Road, including new shop and flex buildings plus additional parking. The multi-phase plan would change site access, add stormwater basins, and run a new water line, so neighbors may want to follow the continued hearing set for September 28.
   

3. New City psychiatrist petitions for Ch. 11 bankruptcy (westfaironline.com) — A psychiatrist who once operated a mental health office in Howell has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after expansion efforts in New Jersey and Brooklyn failed to generate enough income. His Howell location, where he hoped to offer advanced treatments, closed as staffing, loan obligations, and pandemic-era financial pressures mounted, leaving him with millions in business-related debt.
   

4. Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore hospital gets record $125M gift (njbiz.com) — Residents in Howell may see long-term benefits from Hackensack Meridian Health's record $125 million gift to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, which anchors advanced care for Monmouth and Ocean counties. The system is also investing in local Health & Wellness Centers, including one in Howell, to expand access to specialty and preventive services as Shore-area populations grow.
   

5. 'We Couldn't Be Prouder': NJ Natives Win Big At 78th Emmy Awards (patch.com) — A Howell Township native, actor Tom Pelphrey, just brought home an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, sharing the spotlight with fellow Monmouth County winner Katie Dippold. Both are alumni of the Freehold Regional High School District, which includes Howell High School, and local educators say their success is an inspiring example for current students.
