Volunteers Urgently Needed to Foster Rescued Animals
Rescue reaching out to Howell residents
CHERRY HILL -- Peyton’s Place Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Cherry Hill, has an immediate need for volunteers to foster dogs, cats and other small domesticated animals being rescued from a variety of situations.
Approximately 20 dogs from Texas are due to arrive March 12, and fosters are needed to care for them. The dogs are of various breeds, sizes and ages, but they all need safe, loving homes.
Peyton's Place has local volunteers in Howell and other locations. New volunteers who reside in New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Pennsylvania can apply online to become fosters.

Animals that need fostering are coming from kill shelters, overcrowded partner rescue groups and individuals who can no longer care for their pets. Each one is fully vetted and has a clean bill of health before going to a home. All dogs are spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations.
Each fostered animal helps open kennel space for another animal in need. Sobering statistics show that approximately 4 million pets in the U.S. alone are euthanized each year. That amounts to one animal dying every eight seconds.

Foster applicants need to offer a stable environment to an animal as it waits for its forever home. Typically, a pet will remain with the foster volunteer for a week or two. Foster coordinators work to find the pet that best matches a home. Ongoing support is offered to all volunteers, and someone is available 24/7 for emergencies. Along with food and veterinary care, helpful items like crates and toys are supplied. Fosters will be asked to bring their animal to adoption events at least two times per month.
