750 Seasonal Job Openings Announced at Toys 'R' Us in Flanders

A quarter of last year's seasonal hires were kept on after the holidays, company says.

Toys ‘R’ Us, with headquarters and distribution center in the Flanders section of Mt. Olive Township, announced this week it will be hiring 750 seasonal employees to “meet the needs of customers in stores and online across the Northeast.” The company went on to say the staffing plans are mostly in effect to meet the needs of the online orders.

“Our holiday workforce in Flanders plays an important role in ensuring gift-givers can fulfill the wish lists of the children in their lives, whether they choose to shop in stores or online this holiday season,” said Lee Bowman, Executive Director, Field Human Resources, Toys“R”Us, U.S. “We’re proud to create hundreds of jobs in the Flanders area for reliable, motivated individuals looking to supplement their holiday incomes, while presenting opportunities for hardworking individuals to find a year-round position with our company.”

Interviewing for full and part time positions is currently underway and hiring will continue into November. Positions available include warehouse workers in receiving, storage and shipping departments, online order fulfillment coordinators and department managers. Seasonal employees work between 20 and 40 hours each week with flexible schedules offered for week, weeknights, and weekends.

In 2014, the company said, 25-percent of the facility’s seasonal workforce retained a regular position with the company once the holidays were over.
