A Winter Sport Provides Some Summer Fun
Jefferson's girls' basketball camp draws more than 50 participants.
Even though basketball is considered a winter sport at the high school level, it was on the minds of many during last week's summer heat. More than 50 girls between the ages of 8 to 15 attended basketball camp at Jefferson High School last week.
Each day began with drills specifically targeted to the fundamentals of the game. Then the girls got to participate in hot shot competitions and foul shooting competitions. The end of each session was devoted to league games which culminated with championship games on Friday.
