Here We Go Falcons! It's Time for the Sparta School's Out Softball Tournament.

The 13th Annual Sparta School's Out Tournament kicks-off the summer season for many softball families.  Some of Jefferson has already started to play.  Our 10U blue team headed off on Thursday to play Sparta's Blue Diamonds.  Sadly they took a hard loss on their first game, but they are ready to head out on Saturday for back-to-back games at 10:15 a.m. and noon.

Another team that hit the ground on Thursday was the 12U gold team.  They lost to Lenape Blazers White, but then had to turn around on Friday to play Lenape Blazers Blue for another night game.  As of late Friday night scores are still pending.  But they are heading back on Saturday at 7:15 p.m.  This gritty team looks to take a win over Rockaway Rampage to hang in for a good seating position.

After a long day in school, the Lady Falcons 14u Team was defeated by The Lady Diamonds.  With a well deserved break, the 14s are looking to Saturday at 5:15 p.m. to battle East Brunswick Chaos.  Hit it out of the park girls!

After Thursday came to a close, Jefferson sent down another group of girls on Friday at 8:15 p.m.  West Milford Extreme squeaked out a win over the 12u Blue Team.  Sadly our girls lost by one run; maybe the fifth grade social had something to do with it.  Either way, Saturday brings new hope of a win over Montgomery Devils at high noon and Lenape Blazers White at 3:45 p.m.

Jefferson’s 10U gold team heads down for three games on Saturday.  They start off against Randolph Rampage White at 8:30 a.m., followed up by Randolph Rampage Blue at 2 p.m.  Watchung Hills GForce is a new team for the “We Hit” mentality of our feisty 10U team.  They look to smack a few around at 3:45 p.m.

Last but not least, Jefferson is sending a very talented group of young ladies in our 8Us.  This budding group will play a total of four games over Saturday and Sunday.  They start off at 10:15 a.m. against West Milford Extreme and at the end of their day, 1:45 p.m. with the Denville Blue Devils.  Sunday brings the girls back to Sparta for a match-up with the Sparta Diamonds at 10:15 a.m.  Their final game in this one-time tournament is with the Denville Blue Devils at 1:15 p.m. again. 

This tournament has brought 68 teams together, but in each division only one team will bring back the first place trophy. Let’s cheer on all our girls and hope for trophies for all of them….it’s possible.
