A win for the Mets, Summer Travel is starting up, 10u Gold takes a hard loss, Blue Jays' flock to Kennedy and a Memorial Day Weekend Tournament.
Tuesday Night the family dropped by Kennedy on an off night with the Travel 10u Gold team. When we got there we found the Mets playing the Giants. And we are not talking about the San Francisco Giants. Can you tell we are near The Meadowlands? So Megan Ryder started Giants off pitching as well as Emily Parete for the Mets. Both threw very well with a few strike outs a piece. Julia Milliken did a great job behind the plate for the Mets. In the later part of the game Mia Leonhard came in to relieve the Giant’s pitching staff. While Jackie Taylor finished strong to give the Mets a push for the win. Thank you to the Parete Family for helping out in the Snack Stand.
Wednesday night Denville Softball had a coaches meeting for all teams that will be playing in the Summer League. Looks like there will be a few teams representing Jefferson. The league runs from June 6 to July 29. More on that after the Spring Season is over. But if I have any news, I will sure let everyone know!
Thursday night at Kennedy Field the Jefferson Travel 10u Gold team hosted Mount Olive 10u A team. It was a hot evening for all that came out to support the Lady Falcons. Thank you to all the 10u Blue Families that came out to support our girls!

Morgan Carr and Nicole Lemieux were the pitching staff for the Gold Team. Kylee Hine and Sophia Lleshi were behind the plate helping them out. The games started off great for the Lady Falcons. Carly Wurster took four balls for the start. As she walked to first she noticed an in and took off for second, with her gazelle like nature she made it easily to second before anyone noticed. She moved over to third on another steal and Shannon Quigley knocked her in for the first score of the night.
The Falcons struggled after a few stolen runs and lose to Mount Olive 1-3. Girls that second baseman for Mount Olive was incredible. You were robbed! Hold your head high that was the second time you were together in two weeks because of all this rain.

“Yes, we are going to Kennedy." My kids love it there. Friday we took off to Kennedy to watch the Blue Jays soar into victory over the great pitching staff of Kayleigh Silverstein and the outstanding performance of the Athletics. Kayleigh and her team fought hard against the pitching staff of Cassidy Glucksman and Gabby Abunza for the Blue Jays. Thank you Morgan Carr and Gianna Ruffo for helping out in the stand tonight and I hope they said thank you to Melissa Weber for cooking the fries for them.
As I write this blog tonight I say to myself, “why aren’t you sleeping?” Tomorrow the Carr family and many other Travel Families are heading off to Mahwah for a Memorial Day Tournament. The 10u Gold Team’s first game of the weekend is at 8 a.m.. Yes 8 a.m. we are to be on the field. It’s a 6 a.m. departure. Dunkin here we come! The 12u Gold Team has their first game at 9:30 a.m. Good luck to both teams.
It was a long week and an even longer weekend coming up. Pictures of the tournament and details will soon be coming your way.
