Taking It Off with Patch and Throwing Away the Yo-Yo!

I am getting seasick from the up and down motions of yo-yo dieting.

My closet is full to bursting with clothes from sizes 6 to 16. Why? Because I am not a successful dieter. I have gained and lost weight more times than Henry VIII has been married.

I am a yo-yo dieter: there I've said it. This is probably because I was a yo-yo smoker. When I smoked I was thin, when I quit I gained weight. And this went on for most of my adult life until 2001 whern I finally went cold turkey and had the last cigarette of my life (applause, applause). My weight is now at the high end of normal, which you think would satisfy me. But no, I want to be smack in the middle of normal.  I don't want bordlerline sugar levels, borderline blood pressure, borderline cholesterol levels or borderline insanity (just kidding about the insanity). I want good healthy numbers! And I want them now! So here I am on Jefferson Patch blogging about losing that extra 20 pounds that will make me normal (healthwise, at least.)

So I have thrown away the yo-yo and have started a health plan, not a diet. And, I've started a blog, but since you are reading this, I guess you already know that.  So kids, stay tuned for tomorrow's episode "Health Plan: Movin' Thru the 'Hood."
