IN SHORT Coach Darren Bruseo thinks the boys team ran a very good race. Christian Tedford, the first to finish for Jefferson, ran a solid race, finishing in sixteenth place overall. The middle of the pack, Brian Ubhaus, Ian Cantwell and Kevin Uranyi, were the keys to both Falcon victories.
Four members of the girls team ran their very first cross country race. Hannah Scherlacher, Emma Jackson, Cameron Burke and Amanda Swagjer got their first taste of what it’s like to compete against multiple teams on a very challenging course. Scherlacher and Jackson both placed for the Falcons.

FALCON OF THE RACE Brian Ubhaus—The first-year runner finished in second place for the Falcons and in the twelve spot in the quad meet. According to Coach Bruseo, he and Tedford have been training together and pushing each other hard in practice.
Hannah Scherlacher—The sophomore rookie finished in the two spot for the Falcons in her first high school race. According to Coach Kyla Kelly, Scherlacher was not even tired at the end of the race. She is sure Scherlacher will improve on her times in the next race, attributing Wednesday's results to lack of race knowledge.
“She just doesn’t know how to pace herself yet,” Kelly said.
OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES PJ Hannigan—The senior ran a time of 20:24 today, a personal best. He knocked at least a minute off his best time from 2010.
THEY SAID IT “I’m very happy with their performance today. I hope to take this and keep building for the future.” -Coach Bruseo
