Downed Wires Cause Shed Fire In Jefferson: Police

Breaking: No one was injured in the shed fire Tuesday evening.

JEFFERSON, NJ — Live wires knocked over by a tree caused a small fire in Jefferson Tuesday evening, police confirmed to Patch.

Det. Joe Kratzel told Patch a falling tree knocked over wires onto a shed in the Lake Hopatcong section of town. The fire was put out with no injuries.

A strong storm dumped inches of rain, knocked over dozens of trees and left thousands of homes in the dark Tuesday afternoon. It appears the worst of the storm has ended, although the impacts of the downed trees are still being felt.
