Falcon Football Unbeaten Streak Ends

Jefferson falls to Sparta.

Penalties were the downfall of the Falcons on Friday night, as Jefferson ended its undefeated streak with a 23-6 loss to Sparta. 

IN SHORT: The Falcons went down 14-0 in the first quarter. Sparta scored again early in the second quarter, stretching its lead to 21-0.

The Falcons answered with one touchdown in the second quarter when Evan Miller ran the ball in from 28 yards out. A missed extra point left the score at 21-6 at the half.

Sparta added a safety early in the third quarter, to increase its lead to 23-6, a deficit from which Jefferson could not recover.

TOP FALCON OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCES:  PASSING: Quarterback J.R. Reese completed 14 passes for 132 yards. RECEIVING: Devyn Sanchez gained 64 yards. RUSHING: Evan Miller ran 28 yards for a touchdown.

TOP FALCON DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCES:  TACKLING: Sanchez and Dan Brown each had six assisted tackles. John Kampas, Lolo Sanchez and Dylan Pickard each had two unassisted tackles.
