Girl Scouts start the holiday season giving time to Toys for Tots

On November 1st members of Girl Scout Troops #121, #4397 and #5047 went to Picatinny Arsenal to help out with Toys for Tots Program.  The program is run by the U.S. Marine Corps to collect new toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in local communities.

Gunnery Sergeant Kevin Battavio, Staff Sergeant Fredrick Wiedenmann, Chief Richard Espinosa and Kristie Battavio gave the girls instructions on filling orders for families that requested assistance.  The girls were happily filling carts and organizing toys for each age group.  Their main goal was to make sure each child has a happy Christmas.

Thank you to our Marine Servicemen for working so hard to make this project a reality and giving families a wonderful holiday.   Also, thanks to the Girl Scout troops for helping!  It was a great way to give back to the community and what being a Girl Scout is all about!
