Pull on some layers, grab your gloves and mittens and meet us at the Mahlon Dickerson Reservation. Together we ford through icy steams, cross over wooden footbridges, and take in the breathtaking views at the Headley Overlook. The group will head out post-hike for a well-earned late lunch and warm drinks.

Hike Leader:

Maren will be leading this hike. Maren will not be waiting for late
people. In fairness to those who arrive on time, the hike will start on
time.

3 hours.
As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape. Beginners are encouraged to attend.

Sweeper:

If the group size is larger than 10, we are going to look for a
volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike
line and will make sure the group stays together.

What to bring:
Hiking boots and water.
Also recommended is non-cotton clothing.
A light snack or a small lunch.

Inclement Weather:
Extreme weather may cancel this hike. Drizzle
will not cancel this hike. Please check your inbox for updates. Tickets
will be refunded if the hike is canceled.

Driving Directions

Take Interstate Route 80 to Exit 34B. Proceed north for 4.0 miles on
N.J. Route 15, and get off at the exit for Weldon Road and Milton. After
about 1.3 miles on Weldon Road, you will pass a sign marking the
entrance to the Saffin-Rock Rill area of Mahlon Dickerson Reservation.
Continue for another 1.5 miles (2.8 miles from Route 15) and turn right
into the Saffin Pond parking area.
