Jefferson Township Museum Open House

The
Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will
have an open house on Sunday, April 6,
2014,
from 1 to 4 pm when  costumed docents will give tours of the
museum.  Admission is free.  This month’s exhibit will continue the theme “Little House in the Valley”.  Christine O’Brien of the Jefferson Township
Library will be reading from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s literature at 2:30 with a
focus on her light-hearted poetry. The Museum, located at 315 Dover-Milton
Road, was entered into the National and State Registers of Historic
Places.  Be sure to visit Miss Elizabeth’s Shoppe located in the
original kitchen of the Museum, which will be stocked with Laura Ingalls
Wilder’s books and gifts from that period in addition to handmade and
handcrafted seasonal items.  Local potter
John Hedges will be featuring his work in the shop starting in April.  Be sure to visit the Museum open house on
June 1 when John will be giving a demonstration.
