Johnny B. Morbid Rocks Stanhope House, 'Healthy You' Film Series Continues at Library

Your daily planner for Jefferson Township includes a reminder for middle school band parents.

Here's what you need to know for Wednesday.

  • This band, intended to be a side project for the former lead singer of metalcore band In Memory Of, was never supposed to leave the confines of studio walls. But once people got the chance to hear Johnny B. Morbid in action, the group took on a life of its own. Now a freestanding three-piece, the band made up of Johnny, Vlad and Archie will rock the stage at the Stanhope House Wednesday with openers Mac Delaney, Chapter 31 and the Holy Terror. Doors open at 6 p.m. for this all-ages show; showtime is at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $10. The venue is at 45 Main St. in Stanhope.
  • The Jefferson Township Library's Healthy You film series presents its latest offering, "The Weight of a Nation: Choices." The documentary gives viewers the skinny on fat, weight loss and more with stories that include dieting tips from a supervised program at Washington University, the history and myths of dieting, the benefits and drawbacks of bariatric surgery and more. Discussion will follow the screening and refreshments will be available in the form of healthy "green" smoothies prepared by Audrey Dworak, a certified holistic healthy coach and healing foods chef. The program starts at 6:30 p.m. The movie is free, but you must register. The library can be found at 1031 Weldon Road in Oak Ridge.
  • The Jefferson Township Middle School Band Parent Association meets Wednesday. The gathering takes place at 7 p.m. at the school, 1000 Weldon Road.
