LAKE HOPATCONG, NJ — Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey's largest freshwater late, has been named the best lake in New Jersey by MSN.
The lake, which straddles the border of Morris and Sussex counties, is about 4 square miles, and is a great place for boating, fishing, and swimming.

The popular swimming spot is kitted with all the necessities for a great day at the lake: bathrooms, showers, food concessions, and a picnic area. There's also a playground and volleyball courts. (From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, be prepared to pay admission whether you walk, bike, or drive in.)
Lake Hopatcong is in good company. Some other top lakes nationwide include Lake Tahoe, Lake George, Lake Erie, and Lake Tahoe.
