Man Accused of Dropping Baby In Jefferson Reportedly Cut Off Ankle Monitor

He was on pre-trial release for aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child​ charges.

JEFFERSON, NJ — A man accused of dropping his baby and lying about it is now accused of cutting off his ankle monitor, the Daily Record reported.

Brendon Miller, 25, formerly of the Lake Hopatcong section in Jefferson, was out on pre-trial release for aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child when he allegedly cut off an ankle monitor in his Pine Bush, N.Y. home. A warrant was issued for his arrest after he reportedly failed to turn himself in.

Ankle monitor bracelets send radio signals with location information to a receiver, allowing officials to know where defendants on pre-trial release are. Wearing an ankle monitor is a common pre-trial release condition.

Miller is accused of dropping his then-five month old baby, causing a brain bleed, and then lying about it to police. He allegedly admitting to dropping the child on Facebook, as Patch previously reported.
