Pop-Rock Double Bill at the Stanhope House, Book Club Meets at J-Town Library

Your daily planner for Jefferson Township includes a reminder of the upcoming Pets with Santa event that benefits the local animal pound.

Here's what you need to know for Thursday.

  • Cover to Cover, the Jefferson Township Library’s book discussion group for adults, holds its monthly gathering Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the library’s Riker Room. This month's read is "Rules of Civility," the first novel by Amor Towles. The book is a sophisticated and entertaining story about a young woman in 1930s Greenwich Village whose life is on the brink of transformation.  If you are interested in participating in the book discussion group, please contact Librarian Christine O'Brien at 973-208-6244. The library is at 1031 Weldon Road in Oak Ridge.
  • Get your weekend started early with a great double bill at the Stanhope House. This Century featuring Nick Santino and opening act The Northern take the stage at the venue Thursday night. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased online. Showtime is at 6 p.m.
  • We wanted to make sure to remind you that this weekend, it's time to get your four-footed family members ready for the holidays. Pets With Santa offers holiday portraits featuring your dog or cat with Old St. Nick. The $20 fee (cash or check only, please) gets you a 5 x 7 portrait by a professional photographer, and there are other photo items you can purchase. Proceeds benefit the Jefferson Township Municipal Pound. The event will be at Camp Jefferson, 81 Weldon Road in Lake Hopatcong Saturday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
