Rainbow Loom Weaving at Jefferson Library, From Good Homes Does 3-Nighter in Newton
Also, First Night Morris is seeking volunteers to help out during its annual family-friendly, alcohol-free New Year's Eve celebration.

Here's what you need to know for Friday:
- Friday, get your kids to show off their creative sides. Children are invited to bring their own looms and supplies and enjoy time making creations with others in a special Rainbow Loom Get Together at the Jefferson Township Library. This free, drop-in event takes place Friday from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Riker Room. Register at the library or online to participate.
- Bringing together rock, jazz, folk, celtic and jam-band influences under one umbrella, From Good Homes forged its own, instantly lovable music, which prompted one critic to affectionately label the band’s blend of influences as “Hick-Pop.” Whatever one calls it, it's a popular mix in the area: Two of the band's three scheduled weekend shows at the Newton Theatre are already sold out. This is your reminder—don't miss your shot at seeing the third, Sunday at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $29-$49 and are available online. The Newton Theatre is at 234 Spring St. in Newton.
- Christmas is in less than a week, and nearly a week after that is New Year's Eve. Now's the time to serve your community and have a blast as the area rings in 2014. First Night Morris County is looking for volunteers to help visitors during the alcohol-free family event in Morristown that boasts more than 80 world-class live performances, two fireworks displays, street performers and more across more than 25 venues. The event needs people to volunteer as site managers, button checkers, registration desk assistants and command center assistants. To apply, download, fill out and send in the volunteer application. Volunteers on NewYear’s Eve receive free admission to First Night before or after their shift. For more info, contact Volunteer Chair Lisa Konefal at 973-775-5006 or at volunteer@firstnightmorris.com.
