MORRIS COUNTY, NJ— A nor'easter with heavy winds has knocked out power to more than a thousand customers in Morris County — and the strongest winds haven't started yet.

Just more than 1,000 customers are reporting power outages at 1 p.m. Monday, according to the JCP&L website, with the majority of the problems in the southern part of the county. So far, Long Hill is the hardest hit, with 17 percent of homes affected.

The storm is expected to pick up later in the afternoon, with wind gusts as strong as 55 miles per hour. A coating of sleet up to an inch could affect the northern portion of the county.
