Women's Cancer Screening, The Fall Garden at the Library

Women are invited to take a proactive step for their health and well-being. The township offers a Jefferson Township Health Department Female Cancer Screening Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Public Health Center, 57 Minnisink Road in Lake Hopatcong.  This screening includes a pelvic and breast examination, pap smear, blood pressure check, occult blood test (test for blood in stool), mammography referrals (if eligible), health education and counseling. The fee is $20 and you must be a town resident age 18 or over. Fall does not have to mean the end of enjoying your garden, according to the Jefferson Township Library. The information repository presents “The Fall Garden,” a slideshow featuring photos of autumnal varieties of trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses and perennials. Horticulturist and County College of Morris teacher Marc Zukovich will offer a lecture and preside over a question and answer session.
