44 MPH Wind Gusts Expected In Hudson County

One local city advised residents to bring in loose objects. Showers and wind gusts are expected before the evening.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has predicted wind gusts of up to 44 miles per hour in Hudson County in their most recent forecast for Wednesday afternoon. One local Office of Emergency management has advised residents to secure or bring inside loose objects.

The NWS said that Hudson County will see showers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with up to a half inch of rain. The afternoon will be "breezy" at 17 to 22 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 44 m.p.h.

In evening, rain should end, and winds could gust as high as 33 m.p.h.

The city of Hoboken told its residents early on Wednesday:

Please be advised rain and wind gusts of up to 47 MPH are predicted today.

The Office of Emergency Management encourages residents to secure loose objects outside or bring them inside, especially off balconies. Outdoor tents should be taken down depending on wind load.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, resulting in power outages.
