Flash Floods Possible With Inch Of Rain In Jersey City Thursday: See When It Starts
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Hudson County, predicting an inch of rain and 30 MPH winds.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The National Weather Service has said an inch to an inch and a half of rain could fall in Hudson County on Thursday, with wind gusts up to 30 mph in afternoon.
The NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook for Hudson and four other counties.
There's also a small craft advisory for Thursday from 10 a.m. into the wee hours because of the wind.

The hazardous weather outlook says:
"An approaching cold front on Thursday will result in widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall along with gusty winds. A widespread 1-1.5" of rainfall is expected with locally higher totals possible. While widespread flooding is not expected, there remains a chance for localized flash flooding as well as urban and poor drainage flooding."

High tide in the area on Thursday will be at 11:35 a.m.
For comparison, the deadly Tropical Depression Ida last Sept. 1, 2021 dumped more than 7 inches of rain in a short time on parts of North Jersey, leaving flooded corners.
The Forecast
The forecast for Thursday morning says: "Showers, mainly after 2 p.m. High near 70. South wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible."
Thursday night, the area could get showers and a thunderstorm by 2 a.m., and wind gusts as high as 30 MPH. "Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible."
